Many thanks to all the Collegues whose contributions sustain the steady recruitment and randomisation numbers we have seen in the recent months.

The continuous addition of new sites will help us to speed up the progress of the Trial, we are grateful to all the new PIs and their Teams for joining PROMISE!

We had a record number of randomisations in November and the recruitment rate remained at just over fifty!

The signs are that we can repeat the superb recruitment and randomisation numbers we saw in October!

The PROMISE Team succeeded in recruiting the highest number of participants per month yet! We had a great October with superb recruitment and randomisation numbers, many thanks to all the colleagues who contributed to this outcome!

Dear PROMISE Team,

As the summer draws to an end we are pleased to announce that we have the ethical approval for yet more centres for the trial: South Tyneside, Nottingham (two sites), Luton and Dunstable, Wonford Hospital in Devon, and Morecambe Bay.

Our new centre at West Middlesex Hospital recruited their first two participants.

We are still looking for more sites, so if you have colleagues who might be able to recruit  or refer eligible patients to the trial, please ask them to get in touch with us!

We held a well attended PROMISE Trial  Meeting last Friday. The main meeting offered the opportunity to socialise and exchange ideas,as well as to discuss the trial progress and suggestions to improve our recruitment and randomisation rates. We were delighted to meet so many colleagues from both the UK and the Netherlands!

The main meeting was followed by the meetings of the three committees overseeing the conduct of the trial: Data Monitoring Committee, Trial Steering Committee and Trial Management Group. The outcomes/recommendations from these meetings will be disseminated in due course.

Siobhan Quenby has just received the full approval at her new reseach site and she has already managed to recruit two participants in one day!

Our colleagues in the Netherlands have added yet another centre to the PROMISE research network!

Marjory is a dynamic force in Scotland and we are in the process of collating a list of centres to be added in the mid-March UK network expansion.

Meantime our colleagues in England are also doing very well and we currently have a decent number recruited in February, but let's get more before the month is over!

We are in the process of setting up the new research sites recently added to our network. Marjory MacLean is doing a great job getting more people interested in joining PROMISE in Scotland and the number of centres in the Netherlands has also increased yet again!

We will be adding more research sites in mid-March. If you know of any colleagues who might be interested, please get them to get in touch with Ewa.
